GothicPlanet

Please Be Patient!

While I put the finishing touches on GothicPlanet, member registration will remain off-line.
My goal is to go live on July 17th 2009, my birthday. For now, please explore the public
front end and tell me what you think. ~ Best Regards: Trevor

As darkness falls across the land a faint, but familiar, scratching etches chills down your spine. The hairs on the back of your neck stand on end as the realization that something has come back. Something damned, something haunted, something unknown... something... GothicPlanet

The landscape has changed. Splintered. Entire generations have slipped into history as the young replace the old. Many of us have 'grown up'. Others simply moved on. In sadness, there are also those that walk on the other side of the veil. Haunts we once called home have removed their shingle from the boardwalk, leaving a void that has yet to be filled. The collective voice has grown quiet. Nothing more than a whisper from the past.

For years, GothicPlanet has sat dormant in the back of my mind. Trapped somewhere between the half-remembered and half-forgotten, smoldering with the occasional flash perking my curiosity. Fearing the past, yet knowing there could be so much more has kept my interest, however distant, in the minute possibility that I could return GothicPlanet to the original vision. Connecting people. Nothing more and nothing less. Period.

In a world that often misunderstands our collective nature, we can find the common thread that runs through each of us, connecting us with each other. In dance, in song, in expression, and especially in thought, what both defines and separates us from each other unites us under a common flag. A bit of center, conceptually outside the 'norm', a visual curiosity that attracts and repels popular culture. This is where we choose to walk. The subtle differences we see in each other shatters the preconceived notion that we blindly follow each other into the dark like a heard of lemmings hell bent on blending in with the masses. In my opinion, what defines us is the simple fact that we choose to think for ourselves.

GothicPlanet today

For lack of a better term, GothicPlanet facilitates wandering. While there are the traditional forums, etc... there are also undiscovered regions. Rather than outline GothicPlanet, I am going to let you explore the site. Use it as you will. I'll do my best to show you how I use it by example. Together we can rebuild this site into the beast it was always meant to be.
